Riding a 4 game winning streak, the Dons entered their game with Campolindo tied with their rival atop the league table. Unfortunately, Acalanes let a 2-0 late lead slip and would settle for a 2-2 draw. Senior Jacque Peacock started off the scoring for the Dons 18 minutes into the first half, driving down the right side and sending a rocket into the lower right corner. Peacock was set free by senior Addie Bailey’s well placed assist.
The Dons second score came 10 minutes into the second half when senior Emmi Cronin connected with an open senior Tatum Zuber on the top left side of the box with a pinpoint pass. Zuber delivered by hitting a fantastic shot into the far upper right corner, leaving the Campo goalie no other option than to watch it sail in for the score. A few minutes later, senior goalkeeper Catherine Judson made the save of the night with a fantastic dive to keep the Dons lead intact. Unfortunately for the Dons, that lead would be short lived as Campo soon scored two very similar goals, high laser shots from 30 yards out. Despite creating a number of chances late, the Dons couldn’t convert and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
The Dons have what should be another competitive match against Las Lomas on the road Thursday night at 7pm. Go Dons!
