This past Thursday evening 1/26, Acalanes welcomed Alhambra High School Bulldogs to our home pitch. From the kickoff, the Dons dominated possession, with an out of the gate drive down field to goal by Dani Green within 1 minute of the start! Our offense was relentless, with consistent ball movement downfield by Elodie Jensen, an attempt on goal by Addie McShane, then goal #2 by Zoya Acuña! Gotta call out amazing defense by the usual suspects: Edie Berzansky, Sof Cerruti, Lidia Stahl, & Alana Brinkman. Goal #3 scored by Addie McShane, thanks to a solid free kick feed by Sof.

The Dons’ intensity seemed to increase going into the second half, with multiple crosses and near goals by Dani, Elodie, & Kate Uffelman. More fancy footwork and tenacious ball handling by Elodie and Lily Polkinhorn, before Addie received a clean pass from Elodie to score goal #4. Lily followed up with a solid pass to Kate for goal #5! Wasting no time, Elodie took the next shot on goal just missing, but Sof was there to finish, scoring goal #6! The crosses kept coming…the next one from Kate, with wing Haadeh Sanchez coming in to score goal #7! Meanwhile, don’t forget our amazing defense keeping the ball on our half of the field…yes, you guessed it, the next pass downfield was from defender Edie, handily received by Haadeh and sent into the net for goal #8! More shots on goal from Elodie & Zoya, before Lily kicked a lofty shot from midfield to score goal #9!
