Dons Frosh Boys Basketball vs Campo HS

The Dons Frosh Boys Basketball came in behind Campolindo High School this Saturday, Dec 10, 2022, 12:30 pm final tournament game. Ultimately, Daugherty Valley beat San Marin 55-38 for the championship leaving Campolindo HS in 5th place and Acalanes a close 6th.

Acalanes showed determination Saturday afternoon as they battled against Campolindo’s known defending champion league. It was a fast passed game from the start. Campolindo was clearly not slowing down while Acalanes couldn’t penetrate the defense. In the first quarter Campo came out winning 9 to 2. After Dons time out, #30 Lorenzo Cangini made a 3-pointer cutting the lead down. With the Dons trailing in the 2nd quarter #11 Julian Hood dropped in a 2-point floater keeping the pressure up. It was competitive in the second quarter as #33 Ryder Malm sank 2 points. However, the Dons just missed several shots and continued to grind out a tough game.

Shout out to Julian Hood #11 again for making All Tournament Team and all the Frosh Dons players for an awesome game!

As the game heated up, #30 Lorenzo Cangini went out for an injury after an aggressive attack for the ball. By the 3rd quarter the Dons were down by 30 but stood up strong to the test and kept the energy and focus with this challenging match up. By 4th quarter Campo took a steady lead and eventually punished the Dons with a stinging 54 to 17 final score. Acalanes Frosh Boys Basketball players and coaches are motivated to grow as a team, work hard and have fun as the season progresses.
