The Acalanes Women’s Varsity Soccer team opened its 2022-23 season with a strong 9-0 victory over visiting Hayward. Senior Jacque Peacock led all scorers with 4 goals while Nicole Nguyen added 2 goals. Senior Alexa Malinovsky, sophomore Lucca DeBiasse, and freshman Victoria Hiatt each scored as well.  Assists and timely passes came from Taylor Mikalis, Jacque Peacock, Nicole Nguyen, Leila Hamidi and Camryn Salazar among others. Hayward’s goalie put up a heroic effort and stopped 12 shots before Peacock scored Acalanes first goal 20 minutes into the match. Sophomore Acalanes goalie Melisa Adatepe had a great save early in the match to preserve the Dons’ first shutout of the season.

The Dons are looking forward to their next game at Oakland Tech on Tuesday, December 6th at 7:00pm.
