Girls Water Polo Moves On in NCS

In the 1st Round of the NCS Playoffs, the #3 Seed, Acalanes Dons win in commanding fashion, clobbering the Monte Vista Mustangs 13-5.

From the opening sprint, the Dons took the lead and never looked back.  Winning the 2nd  & 3rd Quarters 4-0 and 5-1 respectively, cruising to victory.

The Dons take this much needed momentum into the Semifinal’s, where they play a familiar foe, the #2 Seed, Campolindo Cougars.

Freshman, Ella Del Rosario lit up the stat sheet with 3 goals, 2 assists and a suffocating 6 steals.  She is a special player!!  Wendy Heffelfinger was playoff ready with 2 goals, an assist and 3 steals, owning the Set Defense.  Sara Archer and Brooklyn Plomp each chipped in 2 goals and an assist, while Brooklyn clamped down on Monte Vista’s best player all night.  Senior Audrey Cox blocks shots, 8 in total, with a nifty length of the pool, fast break counter attack assist to Sara Archer in the 3rd Qtr.

Mark your calendars polo fans, Wednesday 11/9 (location & time TBA) the NCS Semifinal Battle Royal against cross town nemesis (Campo Cougs) is going to be lit.

Fun fact..  The 19-6 Dons are 19-0 when giving up 9 goals or less and 0-6 when the opponent scores 9 goals or more.  Stats don’t lie.  The 2022 Lady Dons Defense has been pivotal for this team and will be on display Wednesday night.
