Dons Lose in NCS Championship Game vs. #1 Girls Water Polo Team in the Nation

Midway through the 2018 season, the Lady Dons started a multi year undefeated run.  Breeding multiple D1 athletes that continue to thrive in college today.  At the time, it was clear that Acalanes had a once in a generation roster of talent that produced a historic record breaking 54-0 record.

In 2021, the Miramonte Matadors grabbed the torch, breaking our winning streak and starting one of their own.

In two seasons, the Matadors are currently on a 53 game winning streak, mowing through the competition.  Miramonte is arguably one of the most talented high school teams ever to play womens water polo in Northern CA. history.  They are led by 6 Scholarship Seniors (USC, UCLA, Princeton, Harvard, UC Irvine and Chapman).

The Dons knew they had their work cut out for them in the NCS Championship game.

In a lopsided 16-3 defeat, the Dons never gave up and showed tremendous grit, heart and fight all the way to the final whistle.

Senior Goalie Audrey Cox recently signed a D1 Scholarship of her own this past week (Indiana) and was ready to compete against the Mats stacked offense.  Simply put, Cox blocks shots, 15 in total.  Adding 3 steals and several highlight reel stuffs against girls she will face again in college next year.

Next up, the CIF Nor. Cal. State Championship Playoffs start on Tuesday 11/15, 5pm at Acalanes, where the #3 ranked Dons face off against Davis H.S.

Audrey Cox is going to INDIANA!
