Hilly 2.95 miles for the Cross Country team at Crystal Springs

Varsity Boys

The Acalanes Cross Country team attended the Crystal Springs Invitational this past weekend and ran on the hilly 2.95 mile course.

The Varsity boys were led by Junior Logan Farzan in a time of 16:18 and 18th place overall in the Championship Varsity Race. Senior Tyler hunt was close behind in 16:34 in 30th place. The rest of the Varsity team completed the hilly 2.95 mile course under 19 minutes to place  14th in the Championship Varsity Race.

The JV boys were led by Junior Liam Galacher in a time of 20:04. Gallacher was followed by two Freshmen, Shiraz Kamran and Finlay Fisher, running the exact same time of 20:58.1. There were two more freshmen in the top seven of this group, Harry Zimmerman and Dash Tinianow were the 5th and 6th Acalanes JV runners.

Senior Megan Yee was the top Acalanes runner for the second week in a row with a time of 20:19.0. Yee and Freshman Nevis Murphy, who finished in 20:35.9, ran nearly the entire race together until the last half mile. Junior, Nina Gehrig, was third for the team in 21:57. Sophomores, Cameron Powell and Charlotte Sutherland, closed out the team scores in times of 22:20.3 and 22:37.3. The top Acalanes JV runner was Junior, Ruby Deeming in 25:23.1 with Sophomore, Sadie Poole, close behind in 25:56.0.

Both teams will next compete at the Phil Wilder Invitational at Hayward High School on October 15th.
