The Dons hosted Las Lomas Thursday evening in search of redemption and that is exactly what they found over the Knights. Both teams battled hard, working for every possession, but the Dons maintained the competitive edge throughout. The Dons kept pressuring during the first half, but couldn’t find the back of the net until junior Tatum Zuber shot a beautiful long-range ball, assisted by senior Natalie Means with just over three minutes left in the half.
Coming out of halftime with a slim 1-0 lead, the Dons kept the pressure on against the Knights. With just over 16 minutes left in the game, the Dons were attacking in the offensive third and junior Addie Bailey shot and scored with Means earning her second assist of the game. The defensive line held strong, with goalie Catherine Judson making all of the saves that the Dons needed to finish the game with a 2-0 final score and bring their record to 14-1 on the season.
The JV Dons suffered a tough 0-1 loss to the JV Knights. Goalie Mya Dunne made some spectacular saves to keep the Dons in the game, but ultimately they couldn’t find the back of the net.
Both Varsity and JV are ready to play Miramonte away this Saturday, Varsity at 4pm and JV at 2pm. Go Dons!
