Girls Soccer traveled to Concord High School Tuesday evening and both Varsity and JV came away with dominant wins. In the varsity match, Concord tried to set a physical tone, but the Dons’ skill shined through and proved to be too much for the Minutemen. The Dons scored twice in the first 10 minutes. The first was shot by senior Natalie Means and saved by the Concord keeper, with junior Tatum Zuber tapping in the loose ball. The second was another goal by Zuber, this time knocking in a nice cross from junior Addie Bailey. The Minutemen scored their lone goal of the night with a hard shot from 30 yards out. From that point, the Dons were the only ones to add points to the scoreboard. Means scored a breakaway, assisted by a Lauren Yee through ball. Bailey was able to find the back of the net from a pass by junior Jacque Peacock. Freshman Alex Salazar converted a penalty kick, which was hard-earned by junior Sophi MacKay. The final goal of the night was scored by junior Emmi Cronin, assisted by MacKay. The final score was 6-1 in favor of the Dons.
The JV Dons had a 6-0 shutout against the JV Minutemen. Freshman Livi Foster scored 2 goals, juniors Makena Chelemedos and Gianna Intagliata, sophomore Alana Brinkman and freshman Lucca DeBiasse had one each.
The Dons are looking forward to hosting a big rematch versus Las Lomas on Thursday night, 7pm for varsity and 5pm for JV. Go Dons!
