JV Hoops: De La Salle Too Much For Dons

De La Salle beat Acalanes 67-53 Saturday in Lafayette, behind an aggressive full court press and incredible display of 3 points shooting accuracy.  The Spartans broke open a 9-6 game in the first with three straight 3 pointers, and never looked back after taking a 28-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.


The Dons played well in the fourth quarter, outscoring De La Salle 21-3 to narrow the final score to a respectable margin, with Alexander Butler ending the game on a sweet drive to the hoop for the final two points.


Liam Krackeler led the Dons with 11 points and added 3 rebounds and a handful of assists.  Liam Gallagher had 9 points for his highest output of the season, with a number of acrobatic left-handed drives and flip shots.  Cooper Edelman had 8 points and 4 rebounds, while Ian Salmon chipped in for 7 points and 3 rebounds.  Trevor Carillo led the Dons with 8 rebounds and added 5 points.  Jaden McClane had 5 points, plus 4 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots.
