In the first round of the West Coast Jamboree Tournament the Lady Dons easily won by a score of 78 to 37. The opponent was Terra Linda which came in with a 6-2 record, but was completely overwhelmed by the Lady Dons speed and full court pressure. It was a fast start for the girls, as they jumped out to a double digit lead in the first quarter and basically built on the lead all game. Terra Linda’s main offense was trying to get the ball into their 6’3 post. For much of the game Dulci Vail and Nikki McCarthey played solid post defense limiting the opposing post. It was one of the more balanced scoring efforts of the season with 10 girls tallying points in the game. Karyss Lacanlale led all scores with 17, Dulci Vail added 15, Isabella Aris-Dumas scored 14 and Sophie Chinn had 9.
The girls advance to the 2nd round of the tournament with a 5:30 game versus Eureka at Granada High School today.
