Our Acalanes Lady Dons hosted the Lady Dons from Amador Valley in the semi-final round of the CIF-NorCal Championships. Our Lady Dons came out strong in the 1st, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Our Dons started fast, with the 1st goal on a counter-attack with goalie Audrey Cox (Jr) placing a stellar pass to Heidi Heffelfinger (Sr) for a break-away goal. Heidi kept the pressure on AV, scoring her 2nd goal of the night on a great assist from Sarah Potter (So). With 2:26 left in the 1st, Heidi scored her 3rd goal, again on an assist from Sarah Potter.

Our Lady Dons kept the pressure on with a suffocating defense coordinated by Audrey Cox (Jr), credited with 10 saves, and 1 assist, to Heidi.

Acalanes took the game with a final score of 11-4. Star of the game, following a standout performance by Heidi on Tuesday, was Heidi, with 6 scores tonight (assisted by Sara Potter (3) (Jr), Olive Williams (2) (So), Audrey Cox (G) (1) , Sara Archer with 2 goals (both assists by Maize O’Hare), Sarah Potter with 2 goals (and 1 assist); and an exceptional play by Kira Weiss, stealing the ball from 2 defenders and scoring an individual goal near the end of the game. Great job Kira, great job Lady Dons!
