The Dons Freshman Lost an Exciting Game to San Marin, 35-32

With key players out for the Dons, it was great to see other players step up and assume an expanded role. EITAN ROMICK filled in for KEEGAN GODDARD at running back and was spectacular. ROMICK ran effectively both between the tackles and outside on the option pitch for a total of 209 yards rushing. Wow! Awesome to see the offensive line opening big holes up the middle on running plays. ELI LAIRD, ANDREW TRESSER, JAKE YOSHINAKA, DREW McKENZIE and JADEN McCLANE keep up the good work.

With NIKO WHITE out, JAMES STADT did just about everything for the Dons. He caught passes at wide receiver, deflected passes and made tackles at safety, and had some excellent kickoff returns for the Dons. DAVID ROUX moved to slot receiver and showed his versatility by catching a number of pass- es including a sweet long pass from quarterback DAVID GONZALES. GONZA- LES had a Sports Center moment on a play that started left where he instinctive- ly reversed field and rolled right and threw on the run to JB FROLICH in the end zone for a touchdown. GONZALES passed for 3 touchdowns on the night and FROLICH caught 6 passes for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns.

JAKE YOSHINAKA played inspired defensive football at linebacker and made a number of solid tackles. JADEN McCLANE came alive in the second half at defensive line as he had a key sack and tackle for a loss. DREW McKENZIE also busted through and made a big tackle for a loss.

The young DONS have thrilled their fans all year long and we look forward to seeing them in action next week in Moraga.
