The Acalanes Freshmen Women’s Volleyball team kicked off their pre-season with an impressive win over Archie Williams. In the first set, Archie Williams jumped out with a 2-0 lead, which came to a screeching halt after Addie McShane’s monstrous hit. The Dons were then off and running with an impressive number of aces from Mimi Maycock, Emma Seelenbacher, Fiona Roux, Campbell Evans, and Emme Cain. The defense also looked strong with a key block from Megan Churchill. Game point was won with a pass from Lily McKinney to a set by Grace Gallacher followed by a hit by Mimi Maycock which closed out the first set with a score of 25-15.

The second set was just as impressive with dominating offensive passes and hits from Skylar Platto, Kat Nicolackakis, and Addison Jones. The aces continued, with authoritative serves from Emma Seelenbacher, Addison Jones, Emme Cain, Campbell Evans, and Eliza Gullberg. The Dons walked away from the second set winning 25-18.
