The JV Girls team keep their swagger from last year fully intact as they took on 4 teams in a row at the Campolindo Jamboree this past weekend. Alas, scores were not kept in these preseason matches based on time at 25 minutes each.
The fun began with Campo, of course, and ended with Eva McGrath serving up 5 straight points to finish the scrimmage. In between were a couple of epic kills by Sofie Foster, deep digs by Jade Profilio and a monster block by “that’s our fresh-man” Annie Baker.
Next the girls took on a very strong Marin Catholic team…
Julia Mannering started things out right with a kill for point 1 followed on by Chloe Lockwood with 2 kills up the line. Mia Iams decided she wanted a dig and a kill on the same point and Mika Bocobo was all over the court killing balls on BOTH pins. This match too ended with Eva McGrath serving out 3 in row.
The lady Dons served consistently all day long. Monica Dikova pulled excellent double duty as Opposite Hitter and Setter and started the next match against Monte Vista with an Ace. On minute 15 Chloe Lockwood might have stunned one of Monte Vista’s back row with a ball that bounced off her shoulder
.Last up was Miramonte…
Again Monica Dikova starts the match with an ace. Point 2 saw another bomb from Sophie Foster then another ace from Monica followed by 2 more Dons’ points. When the Dons got the ball back, which was right away, Jasmine Frost promptly served up another ace. As if that wasn’t enough the JV team grabbed the spirit bucket and went to town cheering from the side, there was BLUE everywhere.
