Boys Tennis: Varsity Dons Take Down Northgate at Home, JV Drops Road Match

Yesterday, the boy’s tennis teams competed against Northgate High School in their first official league match since 2019. In Varsity, there were a total of five matches that went to a third and deciding set. Of those five matches, the Dons won three. At line 3 doubles, sophomore Zubin Acuna and senior Jack Innenberg stepped into their first varsity match ever, hitting a walk off and winning their match by 3 points in the 3rd set. Congrats to them and to the other varsity players who battled hard today bringing the final match score to 6-3 in favor of the Dons.

Over at Northgate, the JV squad took on the Broncos. Sean Shvo and Drew Powell won in line 3 doubles with Evan Sverak and Doug Roberts winning in line 2 doubles. The Dons welcome new JV Boys Head Coach, Gary Fiammengo, to the coaching team this year. Coach Gary is looking forward to a great season with the Dons.
