The Dons came out fired up and confident on Friday night against cross-town rival, Campolindo. During the first half, the Dons had several shots on goal and held possession to keep the Cougars at bay. The Dons definitely outplayed their opponent and had the edge. At the half, the score was even at 0-0.
To begin the second half, the Dons came within inches to score at the kick-off but couldn’t convert. From there, the momentum seemed to shift to the Cougars. Senior Captain goalkeeper, Kate Carter, had several tremendous saves, but the Cougars were able to get past the defense to score twice with 20 minutes left to play in the game.
It was a hard-fought game, but the Dons couldn’t get the offense going. Senior Captain midfielder Ivy Souza, Senior forward Maile Broad, Freshman forward Addie Bailey, and Freshman defender Jacque Peacock all played well for the Dons.
The Dons will host other cross-town rival, Miramonte, in a non-league game on Monday night at home at 7pm.
