Saturday afternoon sunshine brought some great play from the Dons who were hosting Sir Francis Drake from across the bay. First half action saw a towering free kick from Camryn Salazar slip under the bar.
The second half was all Dons with the midfield controlling possession and keeping Drake off our half. Standouts included Camryn Salazar, Lue Van Handel and Ella Alpert. The forwards kept peppering the goal with shots with Lauren Yee bringing energy on the wing. Early in the half she crossed to a waiting Ellie Palma at the top of the box for a beautiful first touch finish which doubled our advantage. Not to be outdone by her older sister, Brooke Palma was a super sub striker, dribbling past 2 defenders and placing a shot in the upper corner to settle the score at 3-0.
The Acalanes defense remains stingy with only 4 goals given up in 12 games (total- 52 goals for and four against).
The girls take their undefeated record of 11-0-1 on the road to face Ygnacio Valley Wednesday @ 5 pm.
