On Tuesday, March 19 the Acalanes Girls Lacrosse team soundly defeated Dougherty Valley by a score of 12-5. The game was marked by Acalanes’ dominant offense; they were led by Grace Gebhardt, who took the draw and managed to hold onto the ball for most plays; Emma Workman stepped in to gain the draw control on most of the other plays. Goals were scored by Grace, Lauren Westergren, Claire Gallagher and Marcy Morse; Marcy also had several on-point assists. Emma did an excellent job of forcing Dougherty Valley to turn over the ball. Olivia Pelligrini, in her first year as the Varsity goalie, also had numerous solid saves, and the defense team of CoCo Fellner, Jordan Pratt and Jacqui Caufield did an excellent job of protecting the goal.
The Lady Dons next play Ygnacio Valley at home on Friday, March 22 at 7pm.
