DONS LOSE 2 -7

The  match was much closer than the score reflects as all of the doubles matches went to tiebreakers and could have gone either way.( swing of 3 points)

The Mats brought the same strong singles line up as last time but  the Dons won at line  #3  Jasmine Toni ( 6-0, 6-1),

and line  #4  Zoe Cate ( 6-1 6-1 )

 

 

While the Dons lost the other singles lines, all players gave it their best.

CONGRATS ELIZA BATES, YOU ARE NAMED DONS PLAYER OF THE MATCH !

Although Eliza did not prevail, she played a very competitive match against a top player in our division and the tennis was exceptionally good.

Amber and Eliza were neck to neck through the middle of the first set at 4-3 and then Amber went on to break serve and win that set and the match.

Line #1 tennis was played at a very high level today.

 

 

In DOUBLES, the Mats utilized the same line up as in our first match but they reversed their #1 and #2 lines.

The Dons lost all 3 lines, but not without putting up a very good fight.  The Warenski sisters Erin and Aly lost in two sets both in close tiebreakers!

Lines 2 and 3 doubles pushed their opponents to third set tiebreakers, Naomi and Anika barely getting nudged out 10-12 at the finish.

At the end of the day the Dons still had their spirit !
