Lady Dons Beat College Park Falcons Girls varsity Tennis 7-2

Congratulations to the Dons for bringing home another League win last Thursday against the Falcons!

With a brand new 8 court facility, College Park was psyched and ready to go today!   But , so were the Dons!

Our team had a focus and intensity today that was commendable and the Dons didn’t let up, though there were times they could have.

In singles:

Sydney Bell took over at the number 1 spot and lost a close match against CP (4-6, 5-7).

At line 2, Jasmine Toni built on her confidence and won 6-3, 6-4.

Zoe Cate, went through her match fairly smoothly at line 3 and so did Madi Price at line 6.

Erin Warenski had a nice comeback in her match, especially in the first set. Aly Warenski pushed her opponent to a 3rd set tiebreaker making a huge comeback herself but fell just short.

In doubles:

Line 3:  Kristen Campbell and Aly Sweeney handled their opponents with a quick win.

Line 2, Vivian Toni and Rachel Minden showed they’re a force with another win.

Line 1,   Anika Mohanty and Naomi Berkowitz brought home their biggest win of the year. After winning a close 1st set, 7-5, the girls kept the pedal down winning the 2nd set 6-1.

It was a big win. Because Anika stepped it up, hit some fantastic serves, and cross-court forehands, Anika get the Dons Player of the Match!

And it was her birthday! Happy Birthday Anika!
