As the final score already shows, this match was close, right up until the last 2 doubles matches. The singles split 3-3 which left it up to the doubles to pick up the necessary 2 wins to bring it home.
With some great team cheering and a focus on everyone being involved even if they were off the court, the Dons made it clear they wanted to win!
In singles, Zoe Cate (4), Erin Warenski (5), and Madi Price (6) came home with wins. Sydney Bell battled hard against a tough line 2 opponent in her match.
In doubles, on line 1, Jacqui Caulfield and Aly Warenski barely lost the 1st set in a tight tie-breaker.
The two doubles wins came from line 2 (Vivian Toni and Rachel Minden) and line 3 (Shannon McVay and Lauren Craig).
Both matches went to a third set and because of their solid play and ability to maintain their nerves, both teams won.
Shannon McVay had some unbelievable volleys at the net, great shots from the baseline, and kept her cool the entire time. For these reasons, Shannon gets the Dons Player of the Match!
