The Freshman Dons football team had another dominant performance last week at Marin Catholic, winning by a final score of 44-14. The Dons defense completely shut down the Marin Catholic offense by allowing only 160 total yards (other than one break away run of 74 yards, the Dons held MC’s total offense to less than 100 yards). The defense was able to give the offense optimal field position and the offense took control, scoring 7-8 times they had the ball.
Rhett Skvarna was all over the field on both sides of the ball making plays. He converted 5 PAT’s, a 30 yd field goal, had 2 catches for 51 yds, had two tackles on defense, and was a force on special teams. Evan Malmquist played superbly on both sides of the ball as well, as he had 4 receptions for 60 yds and a TD, rushed for 86 yds with a TD, and had 3 tackles. Dante Montgomery also had an incredible game, rushing for two TD’s, and had 2.5 tackles on defense. On offense, quarterback Luke Souza was 11 for 20 with 2 passing TD’s and 1 rushing TD. Miles Bergman had 4 catches for 72 yds and 1 TD. Eli Berkowitz, Logan Ketchum, and Nick Eppinger all played outstandingly well to lead the defense.
The Dons have another tough match up this Thursday at home against Clayton Valley Charter.
