The Dons varsity girls volleyball team had a successful trip to Deer Valley high school on Tuesday night, sweeping the Wolverines in 3 sets, 25-14, 25-15, 25-17.
The depth of the Dons squad was just too much to handle for the opponent, as Madi Risch, Kennedy Cornish and Hayes Hollar paced the team in kills, with assist credits shared by Lane Webster and Rachel Go. Defensively, Cailey McVay and Kaylin Hyatt provided steady back row coverage and some highlight-reel digs. The Dons survived some early deficits, but settled into their offense and served effectively when it counted.
Now at 2-0, the Dons prepare to face Castro Valley on the road on September 5th.
