On Saturday, the Varsity Boys Soccer team faced University High School at Acalanes Stadium. The Dons attempted to continue their good form and undefeated start to the season. The game started with a high energy tempo and the Dons dominated possession early on. They opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Jonny Roth sent Ben Pecci the ball on the left side and slotted a beautiful shot to the back post. The score at halftime was 1-0. The second half started with a similar level of intensity. A quick combination played into space allowed Ben Pecci to whip a right footed cross into the box. Colby Ebner flew into the area and scored a highlight-worthy diving header past the keeper. The Dons fought hard for a clean sheet and put in a lot of strong defensive effort. University High School pulled one back in the last minute of the game through a well-executed corner kick. The game finished 2-1, allowing the Dons to continue on their unbeaten run. Man of the Match goes to Ben Pecci. The boys are ready to take on Las Lomas, Clayton Valley and Archie Williams this week!
