The Dons had a strong showing at College Park, posting a final score of 46 to 7. As opposed to last week’s game, this was an offense show.
The offense was on today. Props to the offensive line for amazing protection and lane creation. Quarterback Colton Whalen-Schlosser (9) had a season best outing. He passed for four touchdowns, had six carries, one of those resulting in a running touchdown. He also ran for two, two point conversions.
Whalen-Schlosser (9), kept his receivers busy. He connected with Nick Zogorov (5) twice, one of which translated to a touchdown. Trysen Roberts (11) also had two receptions, one for an impressive 30 yard gain and a touchdown. Finn Aiken (15) had a very efficient game, two receptions, two touchdowns, one for 17 yards the other for 30. Miles Moore (25) also showed up big on offense, with one 20 yard reception and two carriers, one of which yielded six points. Moore (25) playing heads up ball also had a fumble recovery. Corben Hanson (23) carried for three and had a nice onside kick recovery. Dax Vail had an impressive 40 yard run. Joquin Bordi (22) also had one reception and three carriers, one being for 40 yards and a TD!
The Dons were able to hold College Park to only seven points, due their outstanding defense. Mason Andersen (21) had two sacks. Meaning QB pressure applied by Maxim Volpian (1), Gino Ruibo (27), Ahmed Abdellatif (59), Matei Bolata (60), Colin Wilson (70) and Brennan Visnick (89).
The back field defense stepped up as well. Dylan Icay had an impressive two interceptions. Multiple passes broken up by Maxim Volpain (1) and Finn Aiken (15).
The Don’s defense at its core was a tackling machine. Vail (42) topped the charts at five tackles. Bordi (22), Moore (25), Volpian (1), all recorded four. Tackles also came from: Roberts (11), Birdwell (12), Aiken (15), Icay (18), Long (19), Hason (23), Rubio (27), Mrachek (29), Kelly (33), Page (34), Korpita (35), Hattersley (44), Noah Anderson (52), Rowland (54), Tandler (55), Abdellatif (59), Bolata (60), Ginocchio (64), Siamas (80), Stuart (88) and Visnick (89).
