ACA trackster great performances were plentiful on Day 1 of the DAL Championships, with finals in certain field events and qualifiers for many of next weekend’s final events.
Day 1 field event finals included:
Natalie Lyons 1st place in the long jump with a PR (tie) jump of 18’2″.
Dulci Vail 1st place in the high jump at 5 ‘4″
Haley Chelemedos 4th in the high jump at 5′ 0″
Trevor Rogers 1st in the triple jump with a PR, ACA #5, 45′ 1″
Ace Reeder 4th in the triple jump a PR (tie) 41′ 6.5″
Amin Noroozi 6th (tie) in the shotput with a PR 40′ 3″
The Boys and Girls teams had great performances in the qualifiers also, including:
Paul Kuhner–1st place qualifier in the 100 and 200
Trevor Rogers–2nd place qualifier in the 200
Logan Farzan–2nd place qualifier in the 800 and 1600
River Lockwood–1st place qualifier in the 300 meter hurdles and 3rd in the 100 hurdles
Olivia Williams–1st place qualifier in the 1600 meters in a blazing 5:00, Olivia’s 2nd fastest mark at 1600
Sprinters abound at ACA, and true to form the girls team will send three athletes to the 100 finals–Haley Chelemedos, Cameron Thornton and Genevieve Tarsa and the boys will send five athletes in 100–Paul Kuhner, Matthew Schwarz, Deonte Littlejohn, Colin Glick, and Niko White and four athletes in the 200 including DAL leaders Kuhner and Rogers. Thornton and Tarsa will also compete in the girls 200 finals.
The distance teams also faired very well with the Girls team sending three runners in the 800–Megan Yee, Neve Murphy and Cameron Powell and four in the 1600–Olivia Williams, Megan Yee, Neve Murphy and Anju Sekhon. Joining Logan Farzan in the 800 and 1600 will be sophomore Harry Zimmerman who ran well Saturday despite how he felt.
