Last Friday night, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team dominated the Las Lomas Knights 13-1.
It became quite evident early on that the Knights were simply outmatched by the Dons staring squad on both sides of the ball, which yielded many opportunities for Coaches Lorne Smith and Paul Faust to allow our emerging talent to take center stage. Offensively, Juniors Marshall Anderson and Evan Banwart combined for 5 of the Dons 13 goals on the night. While Griffin Rotundo and Henry Finegold led the Sophomores with 1 goal and 2 shots respectively. And, with FOGO Ben Foox sidelined, Seniors Owen Estee, Evren Rose, and Lucas McClung shared the Face-off spotlight.
Similarly, on the Defensive side of the field, Sophomore Goalie Val Grossi made the most of his Varsity debut with 3 saves and a couple of solid clears in the second half. Sophomore Eitan Romick and Junior Evan Malmquist were among the ground ball leaders with 4 recoveries each.
Finally, Friday night saw substantive action from emerging leader Simon Appel, up-and-comers Ethan Pancoast, James Davis, Nate Murphy, and Brody Darrin as well as Seniors Joey Bettencourt, Riley Baker, Corey Krey, Sam Meade, and Kyle Pass.
