JV Girls Lacrosse Saturday Squad Begins Their Lacrosse Career in Style

The Acalanes Girls Lacrosse program has 50 players on the JV Lacrosse team. This amazing team has the new players playing in some weekday games but get their main playing time and a chance to develop on the “Saturday Squad.” On Saturday with most playing in their first organized Lacrosse game they beat the full JV team from Berkeley High 6-1 and tied the full JV team from Moreau Catholic 2-2.

Maya Stafford scored three goals (11 loose balls controlled) and Addie McShane (10 loose balls controlled) scored two on the day. Samantha Swift, Charlotte German and Aliyah Vazquez each added a goal also. Reese Westphal and Lilly McKinney led the team in assists. Edie Berzansky, Grace Chehlaoui, and Katelynn Forschler were loose ball control fiends, picking up many and helping the Dons win possession. Other offensive contributions were made by Lucy Thomas, Ruthy Protass, Jessica Gerhardt, Chloe Bergman and Channler Ottobre.

The defense was incredible with fantastic play by Julia Lyons, Cade McCalister, Zoe Braunstein, Emme Martin, Ellie Hanson, and Riley Peterson. The goalies, Sarah Hession and Addison Mandell, played great.

It was a wonderful first time out for the new Lacrosse players and we can’t wait to see what they do in their next game! Go Dons!
