It was a close match Thursday night home game as Acalanes Frosh play against Clayton Valley High
In the first period, the boys did great with defense and in and out passing allowed Arman Craig open to score. Also Lorenzo Cangini made a clutch move at the very end to draw the foul and end the period 15 to 15.
In the second period Clayton Valley full court press and athletic offense made it difficult for the Dons. Illias Kaplanes-Jones was quick on offense with a great floater. But the Frosh Boys needed more help on defense as Clayton Valley pulled ahead by the end of the period leaving Acalanes down 19 to 25.
In the third quarter it was anyone’s game as Gavin Beers powered through CVH motivated defense for the score. The boys were tough but still down as the period ended 34 to 39
By the 4th quarter CVH were aggressive on offense getting the foul. The Dons were in foul trouble in the fourth quarter and CVH took 10 point from the free throw line. Acalanes were disappointed with the loss and Clayton Valley took the win. Final score 47 to 49. It was a close game and the Frosh Boys Basketball played a great game. All the players were strong and worked together as a team!
