The JV Dons went into their rematch against Ygnacio Valley looking for a little payback, but lady luck was not on their side as they dropped a deceptive 0-3 decision against the Wolves. Both teams came out with intense energy and had multiple scoring opportunities. The Dons just missed scoring an opening salvo just 3 1/2 minutes in when left back Ethan Wilberts made a nice pass up the middle of the field to Alex Jeon who blew past the center defender. The Wolves keeper attempted to defend Yeung 30 yards from goal, but Alex calmly put the ball past him. On any other turf field the Dons would have scored, but the ball took an odd hop off the ground, curved left and hit the left post. Two minutes later, YV broke the scoreless tie on a well placed looping shot from the right side into the left corner. The two teams returned to back and forth play with the Dons creating some nice opportunities up until the final 1/3 of the field. At the 23rd minute the Wolves scored their second goal when a defensive header unintentionally found an opposing forward on the far side of the goal who put a strong carem into the net and a 2-0 advantage. The 2nd half was essentially a stalemate with both sides able to hold their ground and prevent much danger. The Dons final scoring chance occurred late off of a free kick from 25 yards by Dylan Machado, a laser shot which just needed one more foot of height as the YV keeper made a great effort to deny the score near the right post. The 3rd goal by the Wolves barely needs to be mentioned aside from the fact it went in with 30 seconds to play. With the loss the JV Boys team falls to 4-4-3 on the season.
