file:///C:/Users/yummy/Downloads/IMG_1911.MOV —— —See how Acalanes Freshman capture the TROPHY here!!!!!!!!
The court was charged up! Acalanes versed a College Park team with some big players and a fast point guard that could shoot. The first quarter took Acalanes a few minutes to check out the other team seaming to put the pace at a chill when Gavin Beers brought the spark with a reverse, under the hoop 2-point lay-up. The Dons coaches and players were steadfast in their competitive zone when the period ended with the score 4 to 8 and the Dons trailing. The zest didn’t stop after the break however when Lorenzo Cangini sank a 3-pointer out the gate of 2nd quarter bringing it quickly to 7 vs 8.
The tight match up continued into the 3rd quarter with some high intensity plays. The offense didn’t back down against the bigs when Arman Craig, driving through the huge traffic, made impressive 2pt field goals. And Gavin Beers schooled College Park with a x over lay-up bringing it to 21 vs 20. In the 4th quarter, the boys kept driving it home with determination, consistent teamwork and reliable defense. Once again, Acalanes defense made the difference with 14 steals and 2 blocks. College Park got worn down and tired leaving them with several mistakes and 17 turnovers and 10 fouls. Gavin Beers was practically just taking the ball from them with 6 steals by the end. Acalanes showed no mercy and secured the win 35 to 28. Nice job guys!
