The Girls Varsity Tennis Team had a soaring victory over the College Park Falcons on Tuesday winning 8-1. Leading the charge was Ari Ruczynski with a dominate 6-0, 6-0 win. Martha Burns also easily took care of her opponent winning 6-0, 6-1. Line 3 singles player Aamena Shipchandler stayed strong with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Ashley Donner fought a hard battle, but ended up in the loss column 6-0, 4-6, (10-5). Piper Duff also fought hard for a win in the third set 6-1, 2-6, (10-7). Rounding out the singles players was Sienna Moise with a strong 6-1, 6-2 win.
In doubles action, partners Emily Berkowitz and Kailyn Broad grounded the Falcons winning 6-2, 6-0 while Marcella Wisniewska and Lucy O’Brien crushed their opponent 6-0, 6-0. A tight first set by Olivia Dawkins and Liv Heglie gave the pair a W with a 7-6, 6-2 win.
In the exhibition scene, Nicole Parlett had a commanding singles win 8-0 and doubles partners Sarah Shepherd and Rachel Gottfried, who was substituted due to injury by Lilou Picard also won handedly 8-4. It was a fierce showing by the Dons! Great job!
