Girls Tennis starts DAL League play with solid win over College Park on Tuesday

Girls Varsity Tennis won it’s first league match  8-1 against College Park. New Coach,  Drew Diefenbach, was very pleased by the efforts of all  9 lines of tennis players.
In singles, we had lines 1 (Eliza Bates), 2 (Jasmine Toni), 4 (Erin Warenski), and 6 (Madi Price) all go to a third set 10 point-tiebreaker. And fortunately all four of those third sets went to the Dons!
However, the 3rd set nail-biter championship award goes to Jasmine Toni. After losing the first set, Jasmine battled back, winning the second set, and eventually prevailed over her formidable opponent 12-10 in the tiebreaker.
Jasmine UNLEASHED when it counted the most!
But, not to downplay the other singles players, Eliza Bates took home a win against one of the strongest players in the league, Erin Warenski stayed strong against a tough two-handed player, and Madi Price kept her composure to secure her win
Zoe Cate, at line 3 singles took care of her opponent fairly quickly, winning 0 and 2. And lastly, at line 5, Aly Warenski, had a see-saw first set against her opponent, but then confidently took the second set, with a final score of 7-6, 6-0.
In doubles, Shannon McVay and Lauren Craig played line 1 for the first time together and fell just short, losing 4-6, 5-7. At line 2, Vivian Toni and Jacqui Caulfield won handily 6-2, 6-3.
And in their premier league match on Varsity, Aly Sweeney and Kristen Campbell won 6-3, 6-3 at line 3 doubles.
