On Tuesday the Dons sloshed down 680 to play the Dons (hm…henceforth known as Amador). The squad was at full strength for this contest decked out in their road blues while the coaching staff sported matching gear as well. Theo Stoll opened the scoring with a nice bank shot and Noah scooped a lefty layup for a 4-0 lead and a forced turnover then forced an Amador timeout. Theo fed Jake for a post move before Amador got their first points. Jake and Theo added a bucket each to make it a 10-6 lead end Q1.
It was a sloppy start to the start of Q2 both on the court and with some clock issues but after that was sorted Noah drew a foul on a 3 and made 2 to stretch the Don lead back to 6. Nice assists from Tate to Jack and Theo to Jake gave the Dons a 16-13 halftime lead.
Amador opened the second half with a 3 and Jake countered with a dunk on a Bayless assist over the top. Amador started off hot from 3 with 3 more makes to pull out to a 7 point lead halfway through the quarter. Theo made a late 3 to take the lid off from deep but Acalanes still trailed by 5 to end the quarter 23-28.
The fourth quarter continued to feature hot shooting from Amador and it was hard to make up ground trading 2s for 3s. Colin Norstad wrapped up the scoring for the Dons to make it a 31-41 final.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Chris Huber Classic December 28-30 at Acalanes! More information to follow on the Boosters website.
