The Dons Varsity Boys Water Polo team had a busy week with two tightly contested matches against San Ramon Valley and Campo. Against San Ramon Valley, Andrew Sappal led the Dons with 4 goals and 3 assists, Kyle Rosenblatt contributed 3 goals and 2 assists, and Christian Gotterup (pictured above) added 2 goals and 3 assists. The first quarter started with a flurry of goals with SRV coming out with a 5-3 lead. The team battled back and forth over the duration of the game with Harrison Labrosse making 11 saves in goals. Unfortunately, the Dons came up on the short end of the 13-11 final score.
The Dons next jumped in the pool against Campo and played another strong game in a defensive-oriented contest. Gotterup led the Dons in this game with 3 goals while Eli Berkowitz and Warren Cooper made contributions with key goals, assists, and steals. The Dons again came up a bit short as the Cougars prevailed 8-5.
The Dons have another busy week with a match against Miramonte this Wednesday then on to the Jesuit Classic in Sacramento next weekend. Go Dons!
