The Dons took care of business against Monte Vista winning by a score of 28-14. JAKE COLACO got his first start at quarterback and seemed comfortable immediately. COLACO threw two touchdown passes both to NIKO WHITE.
WHITE AND KEEGAN GODDARD ran up and down the field all game long with WHITE finishing with 166 all purpose yards and GODDARD with 160 all purpose yards. GODDARD even played some quarterback in the Dons new wildcat formation which looked fantastic. None of this is possible unless the offensive line plays well. Thank you JADEN McCLANE, ELI LAIRD, JAKE YOSHINAKA, ANDREW TRESSER and DREW MCKENZIE!
Middle linebackers DAVID ROUX and JAKE YOSHINAKA continue to be the heart and soul of the DONS defense. ROUX led the team with 10.5 tackles and YOSHINAKA was second with 6 tackles. RAFAEL ALVAREZ was a beast on the defensive line as he made multiple tackles behind the line of scrimmage. ELI LAIRD contributed a monster sack and DREW HANSEN made a stand out tackle on a kickoff.
The 5th quarter was action packed. ROUX played quarterback for the DONS and connected on some great passes to TYLER KIM, COLE GWALTNEY and EITAN ROMICK. FAISAL NABULSI showed speed at running back as he had a number of long runs including a touchdown. COLBY EBNER showed some nice jukes at running back as well.
This Thursday, Frosh Dons host Heritage at home at 5pm. Happy Homecoming week and FEAR THE BLUE!
