The Acalanes cross-country team continued their season at De La Salle’s Nike Invitational on Saturday. The Dons runners competed against 35 schools on two and three-mile courses at Newhall Park in Concord. Super sophomore Olivia Williams (pictured above crossing the finish line) stole the show by winning the Varsity Girls division with a dominant run of 17:35 over the three-mile course with her closest competitor a whopping 22 seconds behind her. Varsity teammates Lauren and Megan Yee (pictured below), Elle Casselman, and freshman Cameron Powell also had strong runs to place Acalanes 5th overall.
Many other Dons runners had impressive performances. Tyler Hunt paced the Boys Varsity with a time of 15:59, Peter Buchel (pictured below) and Sam Pecci both finished under twenty minutes to lead the Boys JV, and Emma Hunt delivered the best time for the Dons’ JV Girls team. Personal Records were set by Thomas Bequette, Peter Buchel, Elle Casselman, Tyler Hunt, and Zachary Snyder. Way to go Dons!
