In an exciting home match against Campolindo High School, the JV Dons came out ready to compete and delivered a strong 7-5 team victory. Acalanes battled across every court, showing grit in singles, confidence in doubles, and plenty of highlight-reel tennis throughout the afternoon.
In singles play, Ela Gozoren set the tone at Line 1 with a commanding 8-1 win. Ela played with the perfect mix of grace and power, stepping into her shots and controlling the court like a true power player.
At Line 2, Kennedy Wilson earned a strong 8-4 victory, using next-level concentration and steady point construction to stay in control. Kennedy’s focus was outstanding, and she did a great job keeping the ball deep, choosing smart targets, and staying composed through every rally.
In Line 3 singles, Katie Lager came through with an impressive 8-6 win in a tight match. Katie showed toughness under pressure, staying consistent from the baseline and finding ways to win key points when the set got close. Her patience and competitive spirit helped secure an important point for the Dons.
At Line 4, Sara Tsang battled through one of the toughest matches of the day before falling in a long, hard-fought set. Sara showed tremendous heart, chasing down balls, extending rallies, and refusing to give away easy points.
In Line 5 singles, Lulu Lancour dropped an 8-4 decision but had several excellent returns and aggressive exchanges.
The doubles lineup brought major energy and some spectacular tennis. At Line 1, Avery and Brooke earned an 8-4 win with confident teamwork and aggressive net play. One of the best shots of the day came from Brooke during a fast rally, when she sprinted forward to handle a short ball near the net and crushed a perfect angle parallel to the net. It was a beautiful, untouchable put-away that brought the match to life.
At Line 2, Quinn and Hanna won 8-5, showing beautiful form and excellent doubles chemistry. Their volleys were sharp, their footwork was clean, and they stayed calm in the big moments.
Rory and Elle fought hard at Line 3 before falling 8-2. Even in the loss, they showed hustle and determination, working to extend points and keep pressure on their opponents.
At Line 4, Morgan and Perrin came up short 8-4, but there were plenty of bright spots. Perrin showed off a killer curveball serve that gave the opposing team trouble. Morgan stayed sharp throughout the match and came up with several great returns.
At Line 5, Riya and HaLong dominated with an 8-3 victory. This duo played with confidence from the opening game, using consistent serves, strong returns, and smart doubles positioning to take control.
At Line 6, Aly and Olivia battled in a close match before falling 8-6. They showed great resilience.
At Line 7, Sage and Rory capped things off with an exciting 8-6 win. This new duo had a great match despite being their first match together in the season. Rory was on fire with several outstanding returns, while Sage brought steady play and smart positioning. Together, they found their rhythm, stayed aggressive, and came through in a tight one.
Overall, the JV Dons showed impressive depth, teamwork, and toughness across the lineup. From powerful singles performances to clutch doubles wins, Acalanes brought energy to every court and finished the day with a well-earned 7-5 victory over Campolindo.
