The Frosh Team Tidal Wave Hits Silver Creek, 60 to 8.

Saturday the Freshman Dons played demolished the Silver Creek Raiders

Basketball fans love nail-biting, down to the wire games.  Unfortunately, not every game can be that exciting, and today was that game for the Frosh Dons. Regardless of how the Raiders played, the Dons deserved their win. Exceptional talent, sound strategy, and teamwork contributed to this outstanding win. It always does.

Yes this game was a blow out. The Dons outscored the Raiders by a big margin. Coach Bob and Coach Eric let the starters get the lead, worked on a few things and then everyone played and DON-inated on the court. And the score kept growing because…well…all the players on this freshman team are good. Very good.

Jack Bayless is thinking about changing his name to Jack BayMORE. In the game, against Silver Creek, Jack scored 12 points within the first three minutes of the game. Justin Zegarowski might change his name, as well to Justin ZegarWOWski as Justin finished the second quarter with 11 points with three 3 pointers. The Frosh Dons were going into halftime, 37 to 0. Yet, a Raider slipped in a basket in the last 30 seconds of the second quarter to make it 37 to 2.

Tossing the ball into the the hoop for the Dons were Landon Best-Santos (7), Bennett Dodge (6) , Coco Gannon (5), Zubin Acuna (5), and Colin Norstad (4). Kaleo Feinberg, Nathan Bennett & Dominic Sarica contributed to the scoreboard too. Justin ZegarWOWski ended the game as high scorer with 14 for the Dons.

The defense was A M A Z I N G for the Freshman Dons only allowing 2 points in the first half and 8 for the game. Basically, the Raiders could never get near the basket and if they did get near it, they were quickly shooed away. The Dons had only two fouls for the entire game. It was a good day to be a Don!

There is no limit to what can be accomplished when nobody cares who gets the credit. This team is one solid unit and it shows.

The Dons start up league play Tuesday, January 7 at 4pm against Miramonte at Home.
