
On Wednesday, April 4, the Dons track team traveled down the road to take on on Campolindo. In a highly competitive meet that saw new season’s best times, the Acalanes boys beat the Cougars 86-49. The Acalanes girls put up a fight but came up short, 54-60. Track athletes posted over 70 PRs at the meet in a tremendous showing.
Both boys and girls relay teams kicked off the meet with wins. The Acalanes girls 4×100 A team saw a new season’s best, running a 49.37, and the Acalanes B team took third in 52.82. In the boys race, the Acalanes A team took first in 42.23 and our B team took second in 43.78.

Highlights from the field events include:
Shot Put: Deonte Littlejohn took first with a throw of 50-09.50 and Santiago Trejo-Chanelo took 3rd with a mark of 33’. The Acalanes girls swept the Shot Put. Amari Hollins took first in 30-04.5; Aria Falahatitook second in 27-09.25; and Makenzie Siewert 23-04.50
Discus: The Acalanes girls also swept the discus: Amari Hollins took first with a throw of 99’01, Makenzie Siewert took second in 94’04, and Maria Tislenko took third in 84’02. For the boys, Deonte Littlejohn took first with a throw of 163-11 and Santiago Trejo-Chanelo took second 2nd with a throw of 118-02
High Jump: Grant Ricker jumped his season best and tied for first with Harry Zimmerman, both jumping 5’0
Long Jump: Illias Kaplanes-Jones took first with a jump of 22-10.75; Andrew Upp took second with a jump o f19’6”; For the girls, Alexis Letook 2nd in 15’1.75 and Avery Titus jumped 15’01 for 3rd.
Triple Jump: The Acalanes boys also swept the triple jump. Grant Ricker jumped 42’06.75, his personal best; William Siamas took second in 39-03; and Sebastian Springfield took third in 38’6; For the girls, Alexis Le won in 30’10.5
Pole Vault: Robyn Sherman took second in 7’06”; For the boys, Miles Moore jumped 14’ for second and Remi Jalil jumped 10’ in his Personal Best.

The runners also had a good day on the track:
100: Illias Kaplanes-Jones took first in 10.9; For the girls, Julia Munter took 3rd in 12.61
200: The Acalanes boys swept the 200, with Illias Kaplanes-Jones running another strong 22.09; Jackson Boselli running 22.69, and Luca Oatham running 22.98. For the girls, Cameron Thornton took 3rdrunning her PB 26.48
400: Benjamin Mickelson took first in 49.90; For the girls, Cameron Thornton took second in 1:01.07 and Victoria Hiatt took third in 1:03.87.
800: Nevis Murphy won in 2:25.24, her season best
3200: Freshman Jason Rossetter took 3rd with a 10:48
100 Hurdles: River Lockwood took first in 15.99 (PR) and for the girls, Yanina Galavach took second in 19.73. 2nd and Shanice Williamsrunning 19.74 for third.
300 Hurdles: River Lockwood took first in 40.36. For the girls, Olivia Kemp ran 50.17 for second and Yanina Galavach ran a 53.74 for third.
Rounding out the meet with a final victory, the Acalanes boys 4x 400 Acalanes A team took first in a fast 3:29.27.
Without much downtime, several of our tracksters traveled down to the Arcadia Invitational on Saturday, May 10. Our Boys 4×100 relay(Matthew Schwarz, Illias Kaplanes-Jones, Jackson Boselli, and River Lockwood) took fourth place in the open division, running a 41.94
River Lockwood ran a 40.40 in the open 300 hurdles; Deonte Littlejohn competed in the men’s invitational Discuss, throwing a 159-05, and Illias Kaplanes-Jones competed in the men’s invitational, jumping 22’03. Congratulations to our competitors for their performance at Arcadia!
