The Dons JV soccer team traveled to Clayton Valley on Thursday 1/15 to face off against the Ugly Eagles in a hard-fought defensive battle.
The midfield became a war zone as Nikolai, Owen, and Alec battled relentlessly for possession, working to distribute the ball and create offensive opportunities. Despite their efforts, Clayton Valley managed to break through in the first half, putting one on the board.
The Dons’ defense responded with renewed intensity, locking down the Eagles for the remainder of the match. The backline’s resilience kept Clayton Valley off the scoresheet for the entire second half, allowing just the single goal. Eagles’ defense held firm against a few breakaway chances by Eros and Grant, keeping the Dons from finding the back of the net.
The final scoreboard read 1-0 in favor of Clayton Valley, but the Dons left everything on the field in a valiant effort against a tough opponent.
