The JV girls basketball team clinched a hard fought victory against Los Lomas on Tuesday, 1/13/26, maintaining their poise and the lead over the rallying Knights in the 4th quarter. The Dons led almost the entire game with the final score 32 to 27. Six Dons scored with Rania Adil leading the Dons with 12 points. The team offensive effort included Nina Salazar, Asha Sekhon, Julia Polson Flanagin, Emiko Kunlyoshi, and Amelia Serna. Further contributing to the team’s “gritty” victory was the players’ tough and aggressive man-to-man defense throughout the game. The Dons were first to almost every loose ball and created over 15 jump ball turnovers throughout the game, frustrating Los Lomas.

Earlier this season, the team also emerged victorious against Piedmont during the Dougherty Valley Holiday Showcase JV Tournament. Acalanes’ player Nina was named to the All Tournament Team for her dynamic play as a guard during the Tournament.
