The Acalanes girls JV tennis team dropped their league opener to Miramonte this afternoon, falling 9-5 in hot and challenging conditions at Miramonte High School. Word is they are already looking forward to taking on Campo this Thursday in cooler temps.

Despite the loss, several Dons showed strong individual performances. Averly Ammerman took her match 8-2 at Line 3 and Carissa Penn also claimed an 8-3 victory at Line 6. The doubles team of Parker Ivory and Ava Bell secured a win for Acalanes at Line 3 winning 8-3.

The Miramonte team proved formidable, with players who hit with both power and precision throughout the afternoon. The hot weather added an extra layer of difficulty for both teams as they battled through their matches.
While the final score wasn’t what the Dons hoped for in their league debut, the team showed up to fight and had bright spots to build on.

Come out and support your Don’s this Thursday at 3:30pm at Campo.
