The Dons won two more weekday games to run their record to 7 wins and 0 losses and the Saturday Squad beat Campo to improve their record to 4 wins 0 Losses and 1 tie.
DONS 13 PIEDMONT 5
Friday evening the Weekday JV Squad went to play Piedmont High, an undefeated team like the Dons, at Piedmont. The Dons were without four starters including two of their leading scorers. Did that stop these young Dons? Absolutely not!
The Dons played all 25 players that are on the weekday squad. The ball movement by our players was perfect. Nearly everyone on offense scored with several players scoring multiple goals including Allie Schofield, Savanna Martinez, Elloise Greeson, Stella Degroot, Chloe Vignoles, Yali Avrahimi, Gena Tenorio, Dora Henley, Lexi Chaput, Elouise Kubas and newbie Willow Ward all scored at least one goal. Defenders Beatrice Deignan, Avila Payne (who also starred on the midfield!), Riley Zirkle, Livvy Lewis, Delphine Fisher, Penny Haslam, Carolyn Tumulty, Sydney Piacente, Cameron Koch and along with Goalie Persephone Quine shut down the Piedmont offense in the Section Half. The Dons led off the game 6 to 1 but Piedmont clawed back into the game to make it 8 to 4 Dons at the end of first half. After some adjustments the Dons shut down Piedmont until they got a last minute goal at the end of the fourth quarter but by then the Dons led by 9 and were just running out the clock. Another strong Victory for these scrappy Don’s players. They will not be denied and work harder on the field than any team these coaches have ever coached. They make their Coaches so proud!
SATURDAY SQUADERS 8 CAMPO 7
The next morning the new Lady Dons Saturday Squad gathered at Campolindo 11:00 to play the Campo Saturday Squaders in a game and they did not disappoint! The Team except for Gena Tenorio and Delilah Ottobre were all Freshman. Although the score ended up close these
They were incredible
New Midfielders Farren Staino, Brooke Lewis, Emelia Deutsch Stella dominated the entire field and completely controlled the tempo of both games. They were so fun to watch and played as if they had been doing this for years! All three of them are such talented athletes.
New attack players Phoebe Ambrosini (steady steady steady!), Willow Ward (has one of the best shots on the entire Team), Kennedy Wilson and Serfina Cook scored at will and all showed that they have great promise and ability.
New Defenders Sydney Piacente, Zoya Sainath and Cameron Koch were lights out and handled Campo offense whenever it was needed.
With these Freshman players along with several others that could not be there on Saturday this program is in great shape of the next four years. So excited to watch all of them grow and improve! The future is so bright we got to wear Shades!
