The Acalanes Varsity Dons defeated the Kennedy Varsity Titans 7–3 on Tuesday in a strong all-around performance.

The Dons first got on the board in the third inning when Santana Tamayo doubled to bring in two runs. Acalanes broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits. Gabby Huerta singled to drive in one run, an error added another, Maya Shoenhair doubled to bring in two runs, and Tamayo added another RBI double.
Shoenhair was dominant in the circle for Acalanes, allowing four hits and three runs over seven innings while striking out eight and walking five.

Tamayo led the offense with three RBIs, going 2-for-4 at the plate. Tamayo, Shoenhair, and Huerta each collected two hits in the game. Lauren Foster added two stolen bases as the Dons totaled four steals on the day. Defensively, Acalanes was flawless, committing no errors and turning two double plays. Huerta led the team with nine chances in the field.
Later in the week, the Dons traveled to San Ramon and defeated Dougherty Valley 23–6 on Thursday in a high-scoring matchup.

June Natal led the offensive surge, driving in six runs on three hits. Natal tripled in the second inning to score two runs, doubled in the fourth to drive in two more, drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning, and added another RBI double in the fifth.

Acalanes got off to a fast start in the first inning when Natal drew a walk to bring in a run, Huerta singled to drive in three, Ashlyn Fogarty grounded out for an RBI, and DeMent added an RBI single.
The Dons continued to add runs throughout the game. Natal’s triple in the second extended the lead, and Acalanes exploded for eight runs in the third inning highlighted by Shoenhair’s two-run double, a two-run fielder’s choice from Huerta, and an RBI single from Nella Rawski.
Shoenhair also started in the circle, pitching five innings and striking out seven.

The Dons tallied 13 hits in the game. Vanessa Choi, DeMent, Foster, and Shoenhair each had multiple hits. Tamayo showed great discipline at the plate with four walks, helping the team total 14 walks overall. The Dons were aggressive on the base paths, stealing six bases.
Acalanes will travel to Concord on Tuesday before returning home to host Berean on Thursday.
