Dons Battle Hard but Fall to Carondelet in Tough Road Matchup

The Acalanes Girls Varsity Lacrosse team faced a tough test on the road, falling 15–10 to a strong Carondelet squad that has long been a formidable opponent. The Dons struggled to find their rhythm throughout the contest, as a combination of frequent turnovers and difficult calls disrupted their flow from start to finish.

Despite the challenges, there were several bright moments for Acalanes. On defense the Dons came up with a few key plays to regain possession, including a standout interception by Grace Colaco, who snagged the ball cleanly out of the air in a play that left Carondelet attackers stunned.

Offensively, the Dons were led by Kelly Reidenbach, who paced the team with three goals. Emily Roberts and Christina Hageboeck each added two goals, while Reese Imrie, Kate Beaver, and Ximena Espinosa contributed one apiece to round out the scoring. Colaco and Charlotte Gellman also played pivotal roles in setting up the attack, each recording three impressive assists.

On the defensive end, Reese Tierney, Grace Eppinger, Edie Berzansky, and Kate Uffleman worked tirelessly to slow down Carondelet’s potent offense, applying consistent pressure and battling throughout the game.

While the result didn’t fall their way, the Dons showed resilience and flashes of strong play against a quality opponent. The team will use the weekend to regroup and recharge before returning to action on the road against Campolindo on Tuesday, March 24.
