Acalanes delivered a complete and composed performance on Thursday night, earning a 1–0 shutout victory over Campolindo by setting an aggressive, attacking tone from the opening whistle and maintaining it throughout the match.
The Dons came out on the front foot and kept the Cougars pinned back, with Grant Matter applying strong pressure in the midfield to disrupt Campo’s buildup. In the 25th minute, sustained attacking pressure paid off when Santi Vignoles was dragged down in the box after a strong run, earning a penalty kick. Omri Noiman stepped up and calmly converted to give Acalanes a 1–0 lead. Theo Horwath added sustained pressure on the ball, forcing several turnovers and helping keep Campo on the defensive. On the back line, Harry Zimmerman, Maor Ziskind, and Aidan Parnell were rock solid, turning away dangerous set-piece opportunities to preserve the lead heading into halftime.
Acalanes carried the same intensity into the second half. Luke Wilson nearly doubled the lead with a dangerous run down the wing that narrowly missed converting on a strong cross into the middle, while the Dons continued to press and control the flow of the game. Campo had a golden opportunity to equalize midway through the half, but a penalty kick rattled off the crossbar, keeping the Cougars scoreless. Down the stretch, Caleb Nguyen came up huge with multiple clutch saves to secure the shutout as the Dons closed out the match with confidence and composure.
