Acalanes dropped a hard-fought 3–1 decision to Northgate on Tuesday night in tough, rainy conditions and in front of a vocal opposing crowd.
The Dons fell behind early when the Broncos converted a penalty kick in the 6th minute. Acalanes responded quickly in the 11th minute after earning a corner. Omri Noiman played a short pass to Charlie Phillips, received the return ball, and unleashed a long-range strike that found the top corner to even the score at 1–1. Acalanes kept pace through strong midfield play from Amir Majlessi and Zachary Birrell, who helped control stretches of possession and push the attack forward. Northgate regained the lead in the 38th minute, sending the Dons into halftime trailing 2–1.
The Broncos added another goal early in the second half following a moment of defensive confusion. Despite the setback, Acalanes continued to compete with energy and determination, led by aggressive wing play from Charlie Phillips and Andres Duke to create pressure on the Broncos. The Dons were unable to find the net again in the challenging conditions, ultimately falling 3-1.
