JV Girls Lacrosse Dominates at Home in 15–1 Win Over Berkeley

On a picture-perfect 68-degree evening in Lafayette, the Acalanes High School Dons JV Women’s Lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance at home against Berkeley High School, securing a decisive 15–1 victory.

From the opening draw, the Dons set the tone with relentless energy and sharp ball movement. Strong draw controls gave Acalanes early possession, and the midfield capitalized by pushing the pace in transition. Crisp passing around the 8-meter and smart off-ball cuts created high-percentage scoring opportunities that kept Berkeley’s defense on their heels.

The attack unit showed patience and poise, working the ball through X and finding seams in the defense, while the defense locked things down on the other end of the field. Aggressive slides, clean clears, and tight marking limited Berkeley’s offensive chances and kept momentum firmly in Acalanes’ favor.

The Dons’ goalie, Persephone Quine, came up with key saves to preserve the lead, and the team’s ride game applied pressure throughout, forcing turnovers and quickly converting them into scoring chances. Talia Leyva and Chloe Vignoles both led as top scorers with 3 a piece.

Head Coach Steve brought his trademark passion to the sidelines once again, animated, engaged, and fully invested in every possession. His energy carried onto the field as the Dons played with confidence, composure, and strong team chemistry from start to finish.

The Dons continue to build momentum as they head into their next matchup.
